About the Opportunity

 

Reporting to and in collaboration with the Health Services Manager, the Assistant Manager participates in the planning and provision of MDR services and identifies issues that have potential or actual impact on delivery of service and patient care.  The Assistant Manager keeps the Health Services Manager aware and up to date of any significant events. The Assistant Manager acts as a role model and exhibits team building and leadership skills. The Assistant Manager demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills and acts as a resource for all team members and ensures quality service is delivered.

 

The Assistant Manager role is a new position that will:


i)    provide operational and professional leadership, including coaching and performance management. 
ii)    support the ongoing development of the MDR Service 
iii)    support the ongoing operations of the MDR Service in collaboration with MDR manager and supervisors.  
iv)    review with the HSM, data and reports pertaining to MDR operations and practices and quality.

 

About You

 

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Program 
  • Current MDR Certification with a recognized certification body
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in a MDR; progressive leadership and/or supervisory, education, and/or management role experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional development
  • Evidence of commitment to a healthy workplace and the use of best practices in building/sustaining staff competencies, ensuring good communication and involvement of staff and clients in decisions which affect them
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and a high degree of initiative and self-motivation are required
  • Flexibility and creativity are required to meet the challenges in a dynamically changing environment, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome and cope with unexpected challenges
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, time management, critical thinking and decision making skills 
  • Evidence of the ability to understand and apply the principles of knowledge exchange and change management to support change within MDR

About You Continued

 

•    Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and enhanced customer service
•    Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and clients
•    Strong human resource management, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills; interpersonal, and communication skills
•    Ability to identify and report budgetary pressures to the manager and assist the manager in identifying mitigation strategies to keep spending within budget
•    Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
•    Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent Full-time/ 75 Hours Bi-weekly •
  • May be required to work outside normal hours 
  • Call may be required
  • Travel required – must have access to reliable transportation

Compensation and Benefits

 

$37.60 - $49.97 Hourly
