About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager (or designate) of the Medical Device Reprocessing Department, the Supervisor is responsible for the leadership and direction of the daily operation of the department.  The Supervisor provides effective and efficient operation of all medical device reprocessing functions, ensuring quality and patient safety is the focus. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human conceptual, leadership and management functions and behaviors.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12
  • Successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Technician course
  • Current MDR Certification with a recognized certification body
  • Minimum five (5) years' medical device reprocessing experience in an acute healthcare setting
  • Previous experience in a Medical Device Reprocessing Supervisor or Management role preferred
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional development
  • Enhanced computer skills including Excel, Tableau and Smartsheet
  • Exemplary comprehension, oral and written communication skills of the English language
  • Thorough knowledge in the principles and practices of Professional Standards and departmental and organizational policies and procedures 
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Flexibility and creativity to meet the challenges in a dynamically changing environment, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome and cope with unexpected challenges
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and enhanced customer service
  • Current member of the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Travel to various sites may be required

Compensation and Benefits

$31.39 - $39.23 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
