About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of the Clinical Virtual Care Team, the Psychologist is a member of an interdisciplinary team that includes social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, and clinical therapists. The incumbent will provide assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, supervision, and consultation via virtual technologies to adults. The ability to deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions is required. As well, the incumbent will be required to work collaboratively with family physicians and other service providers and community agencies in the context of providing care. The successful candidate will have training and experience delivering evidence-based interventions, in particular cognitive and behavioural therapies, for a range of disorders, including mood, anxiety, substance use, and trauma-related disorders.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Recognized PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology from a CPA-accredited university program or equivalent
- Registered, or eligible to be registered/licensed with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience providing evidence-based interventions for mental health and addictions in adult populations
- Training and experience in the provision of cognitive and behavioural interventions for a range of mental health disorders (e.g., behavioural activation, cognitive therapy for depression, protocol-based treatments for anxiety disorders, prolonged exposure, cognitive processing therapy, exposure and response prevention). Certification in cognitive-behavioural therapy is an asset.
- Formal training and clinical experience in conducting semi-structured psycho-diagnostic assessment and in case conceptualization
- Experience with the provision of clinical supervision to students from psychology and other mental health disciplines, and willingness to incorporate such responsibilities into work routine
- Self-directed in practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team while dealing with challenging clinical situations and crises
- Working remotely in Nova Scotia using Zoom or other virtual technology with clients throughout Nova Scotia
- Skills and experience in promoting learning cultures that emphasize anti-racist and intersectional values, analysis, and actions, clinical humility, and the responsible use of power and privilege.
- Competencies in other languages is an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
Psychologist PhD (Candidate Register):
$56.46 hourly
Psychologist PhD (Registered):
$59.60 - $62.74 hourly

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
