About the Opportunity

The Forensic Assessment & Corrections Treatment (FACT) unit is a 24-bed unit that provides psychiatric assessments to individuals remanded by the courts of the NS justice system to determine if an individual is not criminally responsible and/or unfit to stand trial related to criminal charges they are facing. Depending on the outcome of the court proceedings, individuals can be found Not Criminally Responsible (NCR) or unfit to stand trial and may begin the process of rehabilitation in one of the hospital's other programs.

The Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility (CNSCF) Health Services is responsible for the provision of primary care services, mental health and addictions services, and dental services, within the CNSCF.
