About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Unit Aide has an important role within the health care team. The Unit Aide is responsible for ordering, stocking and maintaining all supplies and equipment to meet the needs of patients in their designated work area. An understanding of the basic principles of infection control is essential and key to providing a safe environment for patients and staff alike. This position also provides indirect and direct support for patient care under the direction and supervision of the RN/LPN.

About You

  • Grade 12
  • Previous experience in a similar position is preferred
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and E-mail
  • Ability to work in busy area and to adapt to frequent interruption in activities
  • Tactfulness and diplomacy in dealing with patients, visitors and co-workers
  • Maintains confidential information
  • Demonstrated accountability, collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Excellent judgment, decision making, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly committed to customer service, continuous improvement and innovation
  • Proven planning, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent, Full-Time / 75 Hours Bi-Weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$20.13 – $21.69 Hourly
 
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
