About the Opportunity

The Registered Cardiology Technologist performs the following noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests: Electrocardiograms, Signal Average Electrocardiograms, Ambulatory Monitoring (Holter Scanning/Interpretation Event Loop Recorder), and physician-assisted Exercise Tolerance Testing (Stress Testing). The Technologist prepares patients for ambulatory monitoring which is a non-invasive monitoring device worn by patients for 24 hours (Holter) or several weeks (Loop). The Technologist is responsible for preparing patients requiring stress and tilt table testing, performing stress tests under the direct supervision of the Cardiologist. The Registered Cardiology Technologist will also be responsible for precepting/mentoring all new learners in the department.

 

Travel to other sites will be required.

 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 plus successful completion of a Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
  • Current BLS (HCP) certification
  • Recent clinical experience in an ECG Department and demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter Monitors (includes scanning) and Stress Testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitors and assisting in Pacemaker/ICD clinics
  • Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to adapt to flexible workload and stressful situations
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends

 

Compensation and Incentives

$28.71 - $30.83 hourly
