Location Information

St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, located in the beautiful historic town of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer for a part-time term.  Antigonish, the “Highland Heart of Nova Scotia”, is a picturesque community rich in heritage, vibrant arts and cultural, and is home to convenient amenities and natural resources such as Keppoch Mountain and some of the most stunning beaches in the province. 



Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, and as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care and technical activities as well as activities that are directly related to the overall functioning of the department.



•    Graduate of a recognized Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program, including or with additional specialty practice education in Adult Echocardiography.
•    Current (or eligible) for registration with NSCMIRTP
•    Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada
•    Current BLS certification
•    Previous experience an asset with a minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
•    Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working under minimal supervision
•    Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
•    Good human relation and verbal and written skills
•    Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

Long assignment part-time position; 52.50 hours biweekly 

Beginning as soon as possible with an expected end date of May 31, 2023

Dates are approximate and subject to change 

Salary Information

$33.08 - $38.61 hourly     


This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $258.46 biweekly. Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.


Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus of $1,500 with a defined Return of Service contract of 1 year.
