Applicants must be:
- at least 16 years of age at the time of hire and currently enrolled in Grade 10, 11 or 12 and have previous relevant work experience
- or have graduated with a High School diploma/GED
- or are currently enrolled in or seeking enrollment in a post-secondary educational institution
Positions Available
The following positions are available:
Laundry Worker: Ensure continuous processing of soiled and clean laundry and linen products.
Porter: Provides an escort, transfer, transportation, and delivery service as requested.
Unit Aide: Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining all supplies and equipment to meet the needs of patients in their designated work area. Must have completed Grade 12
Utility Worker in Housekeeping/Environmental Services: Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas.
Health Support Aide: Responsible for daily routines of care to support patients/clients with activities of daily living. Must have completed Grade 12.
Utility Worker or Restaurant Worker in Nutrition & Food Services: Works in the patient and retail food service setting.
NS Health Ambassadors: Responsible for promoting and building awareness on how to access care and the services and programs available at NS Health.
Research Student Aide: The Research Student Aide contributes to a particular research study or division by assisting with study administration by providing general administrative support, shipping items, generating reports from databases, and data entry. Must have completed Grade 12 and are currently enrolled in post-secondary studies in an undergraduate or community college program.

Compensation
Non-Union Positions:
High School – $17.00
High School grad – $20.50
Post secondary grad – $22.00
Unionized Positions:
Laundry Worker – $19.70
Porter – $20.13
Unit Aide – $20.13
Utility Worker – $19.26
Restaurant Worker – $20.13
