Nova Scotia Health is hiring the next generation of Nurse Practitioners.
We will do this by hiring graduate Nurse Practitioners who will be completing studies in the next 12 months. Nurse Practitioners are a vital resource in our healthcare system. We are seeking NP’s from all backgrounds and skill levels to join our growing organization. You will practice autonomously and collaborate as appropriate with professionals and teams in mutual support.
The NP works autonomously to diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform procedures within the legislated scope of practice and where required. The NP provides direct care and partners with other members of the health care team. The NP works in close collaboration with Physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
The NP adheres to the NSCN (Nova Scotia College of Nursing | NSCN) Standards for Nursing Practice and the Code of Ethics and is responsible and accountable at all times for their own practice consistent with relevant legislation, and professional, and ethical standards. The NP is accountable to identify, analyze, and evaluate activities that are reflective of quality improvement initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits
$59.47 - $69.52 hourly
$71.96 hourly with 25 years' experience
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Hours
- Permanent, assignments (temporary), casual relief (no guarantee of hours) opportunities available in various locations throughout Nova Scotia.
- Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
