Selection Criteria

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
  • A minimum of 3 years emergency nursing experience required
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle 
  • CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) required 
  • EPICC – Foundations (Emergency Practice, Interventions and Care – Canada) or TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required 
  • Current RQI BLS or, BLS-C (Basic Life Support – C) required 
  • Current RQI ALS or, ACLS – (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required 
  • Current RQI PALS or, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support); EPICC – Pediatrics (Emergency Practice, Interventions and Care – Canada) or ENPC (Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course) required 
  • Trauma course – EPICC - Trauma (Emergency Practice, Interventions and Care – Canada); Rural Trauma Program or TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required 
  • Emergency Nursing Program or Critical Care Nursing Program an asset
  • ENC© Certification an asset

Position Details

  • Permanent Full-time Positions; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 20 - 30 positions available
  • Shifts include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation

$40.55 - $49.99 hourly
$51.74 with 25 years’ experience

 

Nurses employed in the Provincial Internal Travel Nurse Team will receive $6 per hour or 15%, whichever amount is higher, added to their registered nurse, base hourly rate for all shifts worked as a Provincial Internal Travel Nurse. This additional compensation is subject to the provisions of the collective agreement and will follow the wage scale outlined below. External Nurses hired will be rated and placed on the salary scale in accordance with article 8.01 (A) of the nursing collective agreement.
