Graduate & Licensed Practical Nurses are a vital resource in our healthcare system. We are seeking GPN & LPN's from all backgrounds and skill levels to join our growing organization. You will work with a team of healthcare professionals within a collaborative care model, who strive to improve patient care throughout Nova Scotia.

The Graduate Practical Nurse:

  • Provides nursing care independently to patients with an established plan of care
  • Applies nursing knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills consistent with educational preparation
  • Is knowledgeable, skilled, and has the judgment needed to provide competent, evidenced based nursing practice, and contributes to the efficient and effective functioning of the unit/program/specialty
  • Is responsible for maintaining and continually enhancing competencies through ongoing professional development including participation in education programs, research, and continuous quality activities
  • Assesses patient needs and provides nursing interventions within their scope of practice.    
  • Is responsible and accountable for nursing practice and conduct as defined by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing and for ensuring that registration is current and valid

What We Offer

Compensation and Incentives

  • Graduate Practical Nurse - $22.44 per hour
  • Licensed Practical Nurse - Starting at $31.12 per hour after you provide proof of your active-practicing license with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
  • Shift, weekend and other premiums are provided on top of your hourly rate


About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
 

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program in within the last 12 months or upcoming twelve months
  • Licensed, or eligible for license, with Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)

Hours

  • Various permanent, assignments (temporary) and casual relief (no guaranteed hours) opportunities available
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
