About the Opportunity

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) works autonomously to diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform procedures within the legislated scope of practice and where required.  The NP provides direct care and partners with other members of the health care team.  The NP works in close collaboration with Physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

The NP adheres to the NSCN Standards for Nursing Practice and the Code of Ethics and is responsible and accountable at all times for their own practice consistent with relevant legislation, professional, and ethical standards.  The NP is accountable to identify, analyze, and evaluate activities that are reflective of quality improvement initiatives. 

 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Graduated, or will graduate in the coming twelve months, from an accredited NP Masters Degree
  • License, or eligible for a license, with Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)

Hours

  • Various assignments (temporary) and permanent opportunities available in various locations throughout Nova Scotia.  Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary and Incentives

$53.0765 - $62.0518 hourly
$64.2238 hourly with 25 years' experience

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance for a return of service commitment.
