Position Summary

The Strengthening Transitions in Care Lab, located in the IWK Health Centre, develops and evaluates interventions to improve transitions in care for children and families. Using a collaborative, patient-centered approach to understanding how children currently navigate transitions in care, the research aims to improve outcomes and lead to sustainable changes in the health care system.
Reporting to Dr. Christine Cassidy and Dr. Janet Curran, faculty members in Dalhousie’s School of Nursing, the Research Coordinator (RC) will be responsible for supporting mixed methods research studies in the field of implementation science and co-production research

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing research ethics applications and amendments
  • Conducting study activities as per protocol
  • Communicating information to the research team
  • Assisting with participant recruitment, data collection, and follow-up
  • Supporting qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Supporting the development of grant applications
  • Drafting research dissemination material, including manuscripts
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours week

 

Qualifications

•    Masters degree in the health disciplines or related field.
•    Previous research experience is essential
•    Strong writing skills are essential
•    Excellent communication and time management skills are essential.
•    Previous experience with literature search and grant preparation is an asset.
•    Previous experience conducting systematic reviews and qualitative interviews/focus groups is an asset.
•    Must have working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), excellent literature search skills, and ability to quickly adapt to use of other programs (e.g. Zotero, NVivo, SPSS, Zoom, Covidence).
