The Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Breast Screening Program Project Lead will support implementation of key initiatives aimed at improving service delivery, enhancing patient and provider resources, and advancing program innovation. Working closely with the Program Manager, the Project Lead is responsible for overall management, direction, coordination, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with the strategy and goals. The Project Lead will also manage and lead projects by developing project plans and executing projects.   

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm

Your Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related discipline, health promotion, business or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in project coordination and management, or equivalent demonstrated skills.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience leading projects, preferably in a health care of information systems environment required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Issued by Project Management Institute) considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to present ideas, build rapport, negotiate, and resolve conflict tactfully and diplomatically amongst diverse groups
  • Sound knowledge of PM (Project Management Institute) principles, industry PM tools, and practices; project management of large, complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and change management
  • Demonstrated leadership skill with emphasis on decision making, problem solving, effective staff motivation and communication
  • Strong organizational, prioritisation, time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written skills with experience writing detailed project documents
  • Knowledge of PC environment, software, hardware, and changing technologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to work with limited direct supervision
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, email and internet
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines
