The Opportunity

The Clinical Project Manager reports to the Director, Clinical Operations, CCfV. The Clinical Project Manager provides support to the Director in planning, overseeing, and controlling clinical operations to ensure the effective performance of the CCfV clinical studies in terms of readiness and support.

 

Scope:
The Clinical Project Manager reports directly to the Director, Clinical Operations and is responsible for supporting the administrative and project-based aspects of managing the clinical functions related to the operation of the clinical trials. This includes developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), study start-up documents and providing daily oversight of clinical operations and project status.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


• Ensure Good Clinical Practices (GCP) are followed 
• Assists with ethics applications, document development and communication with the research ethics board (REB)
• Maintain a documented system of clinical SOPs, policies, and procedures and assists with developing and making updates as required
• Acts as the key point person for the clinical team for all project management reporting and documentation
• Engages with the Directors of Clinical Operations and research staff to determine mitigation plans for project delays or challenges
• Supports the design and implementation of the clinical project management templates and infrastructure
• Project reports
• Assists with feasibility questionnaires
• Ensures the efficiency, quality, and integrity of clinical work and project 
• Maintains supply and equipment inventory as needed
• Orient and support clinical staff in conjunction with the Director, Clinical Operations
• Maintains training records and CVs for all clinical team members
• Ensure clinical equipment maintenance and calibrations are up to date
• Assist the Director with budget development and financial requirements 
• Helps coordinate study start-up with clinical staff and attend meetings as required

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, 7.5 hours shift

Your Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor’s degree (Microbiology, Immunology, Biology, Science) and 2-4 years minimum related experience is required. 
• Relevant experience within a university, hospital, or comparable environment in a research setting considered an asset
• Proficiency is required in the use of software: word processing, database and spreadsheet, presentation, email, and electronic calendar (i.e. MS Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Outlook)
• Excellent time management skills and experience
• Excellent knowledge of vaccine clinical trial practices, principles, and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)Problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to speak, listen and write in a clear manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
• Demonstrate a high level of organizational, time management, and decision-making skills 
• Awareness of organizational and institutional processes, contacts, and SOPs is an asset
