About the Opportunity

Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is seeking a full time General Radiologist to join the thriving group of 7 in the dynamic hospital-based practice. The diverse practice offers a wide range of radiology services, including radiography, CT, fluoroscopy, breast imaging, ultrasound, MRI and image-guided procedures. Collegial relationships with onsite technologists, support staff, and physicians across various specialties. Flexible work hours are typically from 8 am to 4 pm. YRH has 100 inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient and satellite programs:
•    Dalhousie School of Nursing
•    veteran’s unit
•    chronic pain clinic
•    kidney clinic
•    Services:
•    alternate level of care unit
•    ambulatory care 
•    anesthesiology
•    cancer care centre
•    cardiac investigation and respiratory services
•    continuing care
•    diabetes education
•    diagnostic imaging
•    dialysis
•    emergency medicine
•    falls prevention
•    intensive care unit
•    mental health and addictions services
•    obstetrics and gynecology
•    occupational therapy
•    palliative care
•    physiotherapy
•    pre-natal clinic
•    public health
•    recreation therapy
•    spiritual care
•    stroke program
•    surgical unit

 

Responsibilities

Duties include x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, mammography and some nuclear medicine. Light (non-vascular) interventional would be desirable.

Expected Hours

  • Full Time, Permanent
  • Flexible work hours typically from 8 am - 4 pm
  • On call requirement 
  • 12 plus weeks of vacation/conference time per year
