About the Opportunity

Valley Regional Hospital (VRH) is seeking a generalist obstetrician/gynecologist to join the team. The six-person group provides full spectrum OB/GYN practice including routine and high risk prenatal and intrapartum care, office and perioperative gynecology including open and minimally invasive surgery, and colposcopy.  Physicians also have an opportunity to be a preceptor for medical students and residents. Compensation is via a contractual Alternate payment plan. In addition, on-call stipends and other incentives are available through the Master Agreement between the Province of Nova Scotia and Doctors Nova Scotia.

The obstetric service delivers approximately 700 babies per year, supported by a Level II nursery and a five-member pediatrics group. On-call is 1:6. Maternal-Fetal Medicine and NICU services are available at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, one hour away.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity join an established office with two other OB/GYNs, assuming the practice of a physician who is relocating. Overhead expenses are shared equitably within this group.
