About This Opportunity
The Department of Psychiatry of Dalhousie University and Mental Health and Addictions, Central Zone, NSH has an excellent opportunity for a family physician (FP) to work on the general psychiatric units within the Mental Health Program.
The Mental Health Hospitalists provide comprehensive, compassionate high-quality care and take a unique team approach to inpatient care wherein forensic patients at the East Coast Forensic Hospital are active participants in their own care. All aspects of the position would require the FP to work with multi-disciplinary teams in an enthusiastic manner with the capacity for self-direction. East Coast Forensic Hospital is an 86 bed facility.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
- Medical degree and current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of N.S.
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain clear records of patient evaluations and clinical thought process
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Eligible for medical staff privileges with Nova Scotia Health
