About This Opportunity

Fall River Family Practice is a collaborative practice with 11 physicians and 2 family practice nurses. We are seeking a family physician to Locum, covering a maternity leave starting in October for a 9-12 months duration.  This equates to 3.5 - 4 days in clinic, approximately 900 patients, MedAccess EMR. Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
  • Act as a patient’s advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
